British Museum, London. 7th & 8th October
With music DVD shaping up to be one of the hottest entertainment products this
Christmas, DVD Europe 2003 will bring together key players from around Europe to
examine the creative, technical and commercial opportunities that the format
offers everyone in the music industry chain.
Leading the debate will through a combination of panels, keynote speeches and
product demonstrations will be a high-profile combination of artists, copyright
owners, retailers and technical experts. Multi-platinum sound pioneer Mike
Oldfield is one of a number of artists lined up to talk the experiences and
creative challenges offered by surround sound and DVD. Meanwhile Dick
Carruthers, the man who worked alongside Robert Plant to create the Led Zeppelin
disc, will give an in-depth presentation of how the project came together and
became the biggest selling music DVD worldwide to date.
Top executives from major and independent music companies including Warner
Music, Universal Music and Eagle Rock will represent the perspective of content
owners, while authoring houses and studios including Abbey Road, Metropolis and
Pavement will provide input on the technical aspects of DVD production. Also
participating in the event will be lawyers and representatives from other
related sectors including the Official UK Charts Company.
